The Subramanya Swamy Temple at Enkan is an important Murugan temple in Thiruvarur District. The temple has historical connections with the Chola period, and the saint-poet Arunagirinathar praised Lord Subramanya here through his devotional Thiruppugazh hymns. Thaipoosam is an important festival celebrated at the temple.
