A Cashier at Solaimalai Enterprises is responsible for managing daily billing and payment transactions while providing excellent customer service. The role includes operating the billing system, processing cash, UPI, debit/credit card, and other digital payments accurately, issuing receipts and invoices, and maintaining proper records of all transactions. The cashier is expected to balance the cash register at the beginning and end of each shift, prepare daily cash reports, and ensure that all financial records are accurate.
In addition to handling payments, the cashier assists customers with billing queries, returns, and exchanges in accordance with company policies. The role also involves coordinating with the sales and inventory teams to ensure accurate product pricing and stock updates. Maintaining a clean and organized billing counter, safeguarding cash and confidential customer information, and following company procedures for cash handling are essential responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process customer payments accurately and efficiently.
- Generate bills, invoices, and payment receipts.
- Handle cash, UPI, credit/debit card, and digital transactions.
- Maintain daily cash balance and prepare transaction reports.
- Assist customers with billing-related questions and payment issues.
- Coordinate with sales staff to resolve pricing or billing discrepancies.
- Ensure the billing counter is clean, organized, and customer-friendly.
- Follow company policies regarding cash handling and financial security.
Required Skills:
- Basic computer knowledge and billing software experience.
- Good numerical and calculation skills.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office is an added advantage.
Qualification:
- 10+2 or Any Graduate.
- Previous cashier or retail experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Expected Salary:
₹15,000 – ₹22,000 per month (depending on experience and qualifications).
